Family cycling

There is so much to see and do in Keswick and the North Lake District that everybody can find activities to suit their preferences. From simply relaxing and enjoying the scenery or shopping  to extreme sport such as rock climbing or paragliding.

There are shops aplenty to browse, cafés and coffee bars in which to sit and watch the world go by, museums and galleries to explore, historic houses to visit and scenery to photograph or paint.

The most popular outdoor activity in the North Lakes is fell walking, and for those who are new to the area or like to walk with a group there is guided walking available, such as the Keswick Rambles. For the more adventurouse, there is ghyll scrambling, climbing or abseiling. For all activities there are organisations which can provide training, equipment hire etc..

This is also a popular area for cycling, both on and off-road. For the road cyclist there are some challenging routes with steep climbing - and for the mountain biker there is plenty of challenging terrain.

If you enjoy water based activities, apart from swimming there are canoes, kayaks, sailing dinghies, windsurfers, rowboats & self-drive motorboats and rowing boats for hire, as well as training courses.
